Lake Orta lies within a stone’s throw from Lake Maggiore. With its 13km length and its picture-perfect landscapes it has been a piemontese attraction for tourists and travellers of all times. Characterized by the small island dedicated to an ancient greek saint, Saint Giulio, Lake Orta is a spot not to be missed.
Private visit with authorized guide along the Orta village narrow streets and the island of San Giulio (ferry included).
Lake Maggiore, also known as Verbano, is the second biggest lake of the prealpine lake group, right after Lake Garda. Most of the historical villas along the border have luxuriant gardens with mediterranean and tropical plants, thanks to its mild weather, both during winter and summer.
Free time for lunch in Stresa, typical village overlooking the Borromee islands. Visit to the Villa Taranto gardens in the afternoon.
Villa Taranto is a true gem with its 16-hectares botanical garden. More than 200.000 aromatic plants grow here, all along the many accesible paths (7kms total).
